MASALA STUFFED HOT DOGS!
These are not as complex as they look, trust me! With the tools you most likely already have in your kitchen, these can be made for your next gathering. Feel free to stuff them with whatever you like. My personal favorite is a combination of herbs and spices!
BECAUSE THESE DOGS ARE STUFFED THE LINGERING MASALA AFTERMATH SMELL IS NOT BAD AT ALL!
So make them even after you have showered and freshened up… you know what I mean! No lingering of food smell on your clothes-haha. I love to prep them a day (or few) before and then cook them right before I am either walking out of the door or have guests coming in. Trust me they are that simple! If you love any kind of spice or flavor in your life, then make these a key staple.
TOOLS you will need include… a blender to make the stuffing, metal straw to puncture a hole through the hot dog, a large medical syringe with the tip cut off, and a pan to stir fry in.
- 8 hot dogs
- 1 serrano pepper (use a different variation if you want it spicier)
- 1 clove garlic (yes, only 1)
- 1/4 thumb sized ginger
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro
- 1 tsp oil
- salt (I add 1/2 tsp)
Blend the ginger, chili pepper, cilantro, garlic, salt, and oil together.
Fill the syringe with the blended spices and herbs
Place the metal straw through a hot dog from one end to the other. You can make the hole bigger by doing it a few times.
Insert the spices and herb mix from one end of the hot dog until it is full.
Place aside and finish the remaining hot dogs.
Cut the hot dogs to a preferred size (optional).
Heat a pan on medium high and stir fry the cut hot dogs until golden brown.
Serve them as is with cocktail forks or toothpicks. Feeling adventurous? Add a dipping sauce! Barbecue sauce, raita, or hot sauce go great with this combo.
